The modern and well equipped single terminal at Palermo International Airport handles all arrivals and departures. The Italian national airline Alitalia operates extensive flights to Palermo from many destinations in Italy and Europe, while smaller budget airlines such as Ryanair make up the majority of the traffic through the airport.
Palermo International Airport has a wide variety of shopping options throughout the terminal building, with several shops selling duty-free goods as well as local souvenirs and handicrafts. Visitors to the airport can take advantage of the many bars, cafés and restaurants spread around the terminal building.
The airport's information desk is available to assist passengers with baggage services, lost property and general tourist information.
Currency exchange, ATM machines and a bank can all be found in the terminal building, while postal services are available on the first floor. Passengers requiring business facilities should also head to the first floor where they will find two VIP Lounges; one is reserved for Alitalia passengers while the other is available to all airlines.
Disabled passengers are well catered for at Palermo Airport, with all areas providing specially fitted toilets, ramps and 'wheelchair friendly' lifts. Passengers requiring wheelchairs or extra assistance should contact their airline in advance.
